2025 Fall Advocacy Conference!

With the start of the chile roasting season and cooler, crisp temperatures, you know our annual Fall Advocacy Conference will soon be upon us!

We invite you to join us on Saturday, November 15th, 2025. We are pleased that Central Methodist Church, in Albuquerque, a new member of our Advocating Congregation Program, will host the event. The morning will begin with check-in, coffee, and other refreshments, starting at 8:15 am, with the program starting at 9 am. It will conclude following lunch at 1:30 pm. In addition to our main site at Central Methodist, a satellite location in Las Cruces will also be available, with the two locations linked via Zoom. Our host congregation there is Peace Lutheran Church, 1701 Missouri Ave, 88001

The registration cost per person remains the same as last year at $25 per person, and $15 per person for Zoom participants.  Registration ends at midnight on November 14th.

You may register for the event by following this link:

More News:

Mark your calendars for the 2026 Legislative Issue Briefing and Bishop’s Luncheon! We will gather in Santa Fe on February 4th, which also marks the mid-point of the session and the last day to introduce legislation. New this year: our starting time for the events will be 1 hour later than in past years (registration now at 9:30 and start at 10 am) to allow for more time to get to Santa Fe and hopefully less rush-hour traffic.

Recent visit to Bethlehem Lutheran

Kurt Rager, Director of LAM-NM, recently visited Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Los Alamos to preach and lead a forum following worship. Bethlehem was a part of the small group of congregations that helped launch Lutheran Advocacy efforts in New Mexico in 1984. Our first director, Nima Ward, was a member of the congregation.

If you would like Kurt or another representative of LAM-NM to lead an adult forum, provide a brief Temple Talk at the beginning or during your faith community’s worship service, or to support your advocacy efforts in other ways, please be in touch!

Join with Others to Support our Ministry!

Lutheran Advocacy Ministry – New Mexico is a ministry of the Rocky Mountain Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). We receive additional support through grants from the ELCA’s Domestic Hunger program, and in 2024 and 2025, by grants from the New Mexico Conference of Churches. Vital financial support also comes from local congregations and from individuals. We would be grateful if you supported us as well! Thank you!

Lutheran Advocacy Ministry – New Mexico is located at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Albuquerque.  We are eternally grateful for their support in providing our office space. Our address and phone number are:
